Every month, La République des Cartes gives the floor to those who make, subvert or question maps: practitioners, researchers, designers, artists and public actors.

Because a map is never neutral, Julien Devaureix and we wanted to tell that story together. So here is this first series: La République des Cartes, five episodes made in partnership with IGN (the French national institute of geographic and forest information).
A map tells stories, reveals what is at stake, opens debates. In this series, we explore how maps can be instruments of power or of emancipation, media that reshape our awareness, levers of sovereignty - and perhaps compasses for imagining our shared futures.
